The Idea

One cat physically walks a five-station grooming machine.

The satisfying part isn't the transformation — it's the journey. A tuxedo cat enters the far-left end of a miniature auto-groom tunnel and advances station by station on his own four paws: pre-rinse, foam, brushing, final rinse, drying, then out the right-hand door. The camera tracks alongside him the whole way. The single hardest thing to get right — and the thing that makes it read as real — is that the cat actually moves through the machine. No teleporting between compartments, no swapping the background around a stationary cat. Every station transition shows visible steps and forward displacement. He enters with ordinary fur and exits clean, soft and slightly fluffy, with one short meow to close. SFX only — no music, no narration.

The whole trick

Make the cat walk it. Keep his legs and the floor in frame during every transition so you can see paws lift and plant. The moment the machine slides around a frozen cat, the illusion dies.

Step One

Character reference image

Consistency is everything — the same cat, same markings and same body size must survive all five stations. Lock one clean reference of the tuxedo cat in Nano Banana (Gemini) or GPT Image, then upload it into Seedance 2.0. Because washing wets him and drying fluffs him, note in the prompt that only his fur state changes — never his identity, coat pattern or scale.

The Tuxedo Cat

The Tuxedo Cat

The Traveller

One adult black-and-white tuxedo cat — black head, back, sides and tail; white blaze, muzzle, chest and paws; pink nose, large green eyes, long white whiskers. Four legs, two ears, one tail. No collar. Enters with short fur, ends clean and slightly fluffy.

Calm · curious · easygoing

Pro move

Spell out the anatomy count — exactly four legs, two ears, one tail — and forbid body inflation or breed change. Washing and drying tempt the model to morph him; pin the identity so only the fur state moves.

2
Step Two

Storyboard the entrance, the foam and the clean exit

Before you animate, lock the arc as three stills. Using your locked cat as reference, generate the start, the messy peak and the payoff. If these three read at a glance, the walk between them will too.

FrameWhat we seePrompt focus
ENTRANCEThe cat steps over the low threshold into Station 1, stopping beneath the first row of pre-rinse nozzles; the entrance panel closes behind him.Three-quarter view of the left end, pearl-cream machine, warm metal frames, cool-white interior light.
FOAMThe cat paused under four foam dispensers, thick white foam landing in mounds on his back and spreading down his sides, face unobstructed.Side-tracking camera, cat facing screen right, legs and floor visible to prove position.
CLEAN EXITExterior three-quarter view of the far-right door lifting; the cat steps out front paws first, clean and slightly fluffy, the full tunnel receding behind him.Cut to exterior, clean black-and-white markings fully visible, relaxed expression.

Here's the prompt for the FOAM key frame — the messy peak:

Key frame · FOAM
[STYLE] Pixar-style feature-film 3D animation, 9:16. Soft cinematic lighting, rounded industrial design, polished animated foam and machine. No live-action or photorealistic cat.
[ACTION] One black-and-white tuxedo cat — white blaze, muzzle, chest and paws, large green eyes, long whiskers — pauses under four foam dispensers. Thick white foam lands on his back in four mounds and spreads down his sides. His face stays unobstructed; calm, slightly pleased expression.
[SETTING] Inside a pearl-cream elongated auto-groom tunnel with rounded transparent windows and cool-white interior lights. One continuous perforated floor. The cat faces screen right, legs and floor visible.
[NEGATIVE] No collar or clothing, no body inflation or breed change, no photorealism, no text, logos or watermarks.

Step Three

Animate in Seedance 2.0

With your cat uploaded as an image reference, set 9:16 · 720p+ · 20s · no subtitles, and paste the full master prompt below. The second-by-second timeline shows the beats — the complete prompt follows underneath.

TimeBeat
0:00–0:02Enter the left end — the cat steps over the threshold fully into Station 1, rear paws and tail clear the entrance, panel closes behind him.
0:02–0:04.5Pre-rinse, then walk — gentle streams wet his back and flanks, one calm blink, water stops; he takes two visible steps right into Station 2.
0:04.5–0:07Foam, then walk — four dispensers drop foam in mounds down his sides; dispensers stop; two short steps right toward Station 3, a few blobs fall behind.
0:07–0:10Brushing, then walk — three round brushes on articulated arms make one down-and-up pass; they lift away; he walks right into Station 4, paws lifting and planting.
0:10–0:12.5Final rinse, then walk — clean water rinses the foam off, markings return, water stops; he steps right into Station 5, coat clean but wet and flattened.
0:12.5–0:15.5Drying — side vents lift his fur; he goes soft and slightly fluffy, body shape unchanged, squints into the airflow, then looks toward the exit.
0:15.5–0:17Approach the right exit — he walks to the far-right door, which lifts vertically and clears his ears; he waits until the opening is clear.
0:17–0:18.5Step out — cut to exterior three-quarter view of the right end; front paws first, then rear paws and tail, tunnel receding; he turns toward camera.
0:18.5–0:20Final close-up — clean face and white chest fill the frame; one short natural meow; mouth closes; hold the relaxed expression.

🎬 The 20-second master prompt

This is the whole thing — copy it, swap the animal (dog, rabbit, ferret) or the machine (car wash, spa tunnel) and you have your own left-to-right journey series.

Master prompt · The Grooming Tunnel
[STYLE] 20-second vertical 9:16 Pixar-style cinematic 3D animated short featuring a tuxedo cat moving through a miniature automatic grooming tunnel. Clearly stylized feature-film 3D animation — appealing cat with a rounded expressive face, large green eyes, soft sculpted forms and detailed animated fur. The machine, room, water, foam and brushes share the same polished animated aesthetic. Soft cinematic lighting, rounded industrial design, playful visual storytelling. No live-action footage or photorealistic cat. Resolution 720p or higher.
[MOST IMPORTANT] The CAT physically advances through the machine from LEFT TO RIGHT, walking from one treatment station to the next on his own four paws. The camera tracks alongside him. Do not keep the cat stationary while replacing the background. Do not teleport him between compartments. Show visible stepping and forward displacement during every station transition.
[CAT] One adult black-and-white tuxedo cat. Black head, back, sides and tail; white blaze between his eyes, white muzzle, pink nose, white chest and white paws. Large expressive green eyes and long white whiskers. Exactly four legs, two ears and one tail. No collar or clothing. Preserve his identity, coat pattern and body size throughout. He enters with ordinary short fur; washing makes his fur wet and flattened; drying makes the same coat clean, soft and moderately fluffier. No dramatic body inflation or breed change.
[MACHINE LAYOUT] One continuous elongated grooming tunnel with five adjacent stations, LEFT TO RIGHT — STATION 1: overhead pre-rinse nozzles. STATION 2: four foam dispensers. STATION 3: three soft round grooming brushes on articulated arms. STATION 4: clean-water rinse nozzles. STATION 5: side-mounted drying vents. Pearl-cream exterior, rounded transparent viewing windows, warm metallic frames, cool-white interior lights. One continuous perforated floor connects all stations at the same height; internal passages open and large enough to walk through. No solid partitions blocking his route. No conveyor belt. Entrance at the far LEFT, exit at the far RIGHT; the exit door lifts vertically; a small dark control panel is mounted beside the exit.
[CAMERA] Begin with a three-quarter view of the left entrance. During treatment, use a continuous side-tracking camera moving RIGHT with the cat, keeping enough of his legs and floor visible to prove he is walking forward. Window frames may briefly cross the foreground but must not conceal every transition. The cat remains facing screen right through the treatment sequence. For the ending, cut to an exterior three-quarter view of the far-right exit.
[PACING] Show every stage: Entrance → pre-rinse → foam → brushing → final rinse → drying → exit. The cat pauses briefly for each treatment, then takes clear steps into the next station. Each treatment stops or retracts before he moves onward. Brisk but natural movement. Complete the entire sequence within 20 seconds.
[TIMELINE] 0.00–2.00 ENTER THE LEFT END: the cat approaches the open entrance from screen left, steps over the low threshold and walks fully into Station 1; rear paws and tail clear the entrance; he stops beneath the first nozzles; the entrance panel closes behind him. · 2.00–4.50 PRE-RINSE, THEN WALK: gentle streams wet his back and flanks, water drains through the floor, spray kept off his face and ears; one calm blink; water stops; he takes two visible steps RIGHT into Station 2 as the camera tracks his moving paws. · 4.50–7.00 FOAM, THEN WALK: he pauses under four foam dispensers; thick white foam lands in four mounds and spreads down his sides, face unobstructed; dispensers stop; two short steps RIGHT toward Station 3, foam traveling on his coat, a few blobs falling behind. · 7.00–10.00 BRUSHING, THEN WALK: three round white brushes extend on clearly attached articulated arms and make one coordinated down-and-up pass along his visible flank; the foam thins to lather; he stays calm and slightly pleased; the brushes lift completely away; he walks RIGHT into Station 4, paws lifting and planting on the fixed floor. · 10.00–12.50 FINAL RINSE, THEN WALK: clean water rinses the foam off his back and sides, suds drain away, his black-and-white markings become fully visible; the water stops before he moves; he takes the next visible steps RIGHT into Station 5, coat clean but wet and flattened. · 12.50–15.50 DRYING: he pauses between side-mounted drying vents; gentle airflow moves his whiskers and lifts his fur; his back, chest and sides become dry, soft and slightly fluffy, body shape unchanged; he briefly squints into the comfortable airflow, then relaxes; fans stop; he looks toward the exit on his RIGHT. · 15.50–17.00 APPROACH THE RIGHT EXIT: he walks the remaining short distance to the far-right door, which lifts vertically and fully clears his ears; he waits until the opening is clear; do not reverse his route. · 17.00–18.50 STEP OUT: cut to an exterior three-quarter view of the RIGHT end; he steps through front paws first, followed by rear paws and tail; the full tunnel recedes behind him; he turns gently toward the camera and approaches. · 18.50–20.00 FINAL CLOSE-UP: his clean face and white chest fill the frame; he stops near the camera and gives one short natural meow; his mouth closes; hold his relaxed expression for the final half-second.
[PHYSICAL CONTINUITY] One cat traverses the entire machine in order; his position progresses consistently LEFT TO RIGHT; entry and exit are at opposite ends. His paws make believable contact with the fixed floor. No sliding, moonwalking, teleportation or background-only movement. Do not let the machine move around a stationary cat. Preserve the same coat markings, face, anatomy and scale. Foam stays attached to his coat until rinsed away; brushes remain connected to their arms and retract before he leaves; no tools passing through his body; no skipped stations.
[NEGATIVE] No live-action footage or photorealistic cat. No collar or clothing. No dramatic body inflation or breed change. No solid partitions blocking his route. No conveyor belt. No sliding, moonwalking, teleportation or background-only movement. Do not let the machine move around a stationary cat. No tools passing through his body. No skipped stations. No music, human dialogue or narration. No captions, subtitles, logos, watermarks or end card.
[AUDIO — SFX ONLY] Pawsteps on the perforated floor, quiet machinery, gentle water spray, foam dispensing, soft brush swishes, drainage, drying airflow, exit-door motor and ONE final cat meow. No music, human dialogue or narration.
[EDIT] Favor a continuous rightward tracking shot during the treatment sequence. Use cuts only for the entrance and final exterior view. Keep the walking transitions visible and readable. No captions, subtitles, logos, watermarks or end card. Exactly 20 seconds.

Step Four

Sound, title & publish

The render is 80% of it. These finishing touches are what make it feel like a studio drop.

Machine SFX only

Layer pawsteps on the perforated floor · quiet machinery hum · gentle water spray · foam dispensing · soft brush swishes · drainage · drying airflow · the exit-door motor · and ONE final cat meow. No music, no narration.

Gold title card

Open on a clean title: "THE GROOMING TUNNEL" + subtitle "Cinematic 3D AI cartoon mini-story," matching your studio style.

Publish for Reels

9:16, hook in the first 0.5s on the cat stepping into the tunnel. Caption with a comment-gate: "Comment TUNNEL for the full guide."

Prove the walk

The scroll-stopping payoff is the continuous left-to-right journey — so protect it. Keep the tracking shot unbroken through the stations and never let a window frame hide a transition. If viewers can't see him step, they'll assume it's a background swap and scroll on.

  • Fur state changes only — short → wet and flat → clean and slightly fluffy — with no body inflation or breed change
  • Every station fires in order: pre-rinse → foam → brushing → final rinse → drying, none skipped
  • Foam stays on his coat until rinsed; brushes stay attached to their arms and retract before he moves
  • SFX only — machine sounds plus one final meow, no music, dialogue, subtitles or on-screen text
  • 9:16, 20 seconds, 720p or better; continuous tracking shot, cuts only for entrance and exterior exit
